An eco-buffer runs through it. Way up on the Northern Great Plains of Montana, Anna Jones-Crabtree and Doug Crabtree planted a half mile of trees on their farm, Vilicus Farms. This eco-buffer will help their land become more drought-resistant and provide food and habitat for critters that help their soil thrive. Why plant trees where you could grow crops? Biodiversity, that’s why. It’s one of the keys to a farmable future.
