Robbie Vitrano

Board Member

Robbie Vitrano is Mad Agriculture’s board chair and guided the launch of Mad Capital and Mad Markets.  He works at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, climate finance, design and his Sicilian grandparent’s corner grocery.

He is a native of New Orleans where he helped lead post-Katrina recovery including the founding of innovation hub Idea Village, an international model of place-based social entrepreneurship. He is founder and former CEO of  brand agency Trumpet and global franchise Naked Pizza, both named to Fast Company’s “Most Innovative” list.  He is a founder of climate finance company Ecority, accelerating access to renewable energy technolgy for low income, disadvantaged communities via the $2T credit union sector.  

Robbie is also a board member of the Colorado Grain Chain and formerly, Tulane’s Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine.  He mentors food-based social entrepreneurs via the Unreasonable Institute, Rabobank’s Foodbytes, New Hope, and Chipotle’s Aluminaries Project.  He recently celebrated the first vintage of his regeneratively farmed vineyard in Santa Barbara and lives in the Boulder foothills with his partner, the artist Tricia Duffy Vitrano.
